GIS Contract Procurement

PROPOSED RECOMMENDATION

To undertake a procurement exercise for the provision of a Geographical Information System (GIS). 

BACKGROUND TO SUPPORT THE RECOMMENDATION

The new GIS contract will commence from the 20 December 2023.

The system enables the councils to create, manage analyse and map all types of data.  An element of the system is customer facing and used by members of the public.

LEGAL AND GOVERNANCE COMPLIANCE

The procurement exercise will be undertaken by the Council’s Procurement and Contract Management Service, with a Gateway report considered in accordance with the Council’s Procurement and Contract Procedure Rules.

This is a key decision.  The GIS contract was entered on the forward plan in October 2023.

RECOMMENDATION

To procure a contract for the provision of a Geographical Information System (GIS) for North Yorkshire Council from the 20 December 2023.
